Following in a single day rain, landslides have been reported on National Highway 75 close to Donigal in Sakaleshpur taluk, Karnataka on July 22. Vehicular movement on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway has been hit.
On July 22, the Hassan district administration has appealed to motorists travelling between Mangaluru and Bengaluru to take the Belur-Mudigere-Charmadi Ghat route. The district administration has issued a communiqué on this regard.
Sakaleshpur tahsildar Jaikumar and different officers visited the spot round 7.30 a.m. and took the choice to cease the movement of automobiles. Staff on the checkpost at Maranahalli have been informed to cease automobiles coming from Mangaluru.
“I appeal to motorists not to take the Shiradi Ghat route,” the tahsildar informed mediapersons.
