Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretary Ok. Ramakrishna, A.P. Congress president Sake Sailajanath and different senior leaders from Left parties on Thursday resolved to return collectively to place strain on the Central authorities to finish the Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) of practically one lakh displaced households from the affected space of the Polavaram irrigation challenge.
A digital assembly was organised on the difficulty, and was moderated by the CPI. “The onus of completing the R&R exercise is on the Centre as per the A.P. Reorganisation Act, 2014. The Centre cannot disown its responsibility now,” Mr. Ramakrishna stated.

“Pressure can be put on the Centre to extend financial aid for the R&R package only with support from all political parties in the State. The State government should also be equally prepared to convince the Centre for the financial grant for the R&R package,” stated Mr. Ramakrishna.
In his handle, Mr. Sailajanath acknowledged that the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy authorities has did not persuade the Centre on the Polavaram Irrigation challenge’s monetary parts. He added that the Congress was prepared to hitch all parties to battle for the R&R points.
A call has been taken to conduct the field-level visits within the affected areas of the Polavaram irrigation challenge to examine the Resettlement and Rehabilitation train by June-end.
